The 28-year-old revealed she was set to pay ‘all her travel savings’ on emergency dental treatment, after discovering her wisdom teeth needed to be removed while traveling through Europe.

Alongside a photo of herself giving a thumbs up in a dental office, Shelby, who appears to be in Greece, wrote: “Yeah wow find out I need my wisdom teeth taken out .

“Hahahahha when I’m abroad, of course it happens to me.”

The Gold Coast-based reality star then thanked her followers for their messages of support, before stressing how much she wanted to be at home in Australia, where the procedure would be covered by insurance.

“I’m not going to take them off today,” she said. “I have to go to an orthodontist tomorrow for a consultation and then they will let me know when I can get them out.

“[I] I would love to be in Australia using my private health and not spend all my travel savings, but I’m in too much pain not to do that ASAP.

“So looks like I’m gonna get ’em out here wahhhh well.”

After much deliberation, Shelby later revealed she would have to suffer until she returned to Australia as the cost of the procedure would be too high overseas.

“After speaking with a few of my dentist friends, I have canceled my appointment with the orthodontist tomorrow and will wait to return home to Australia,” she added.

“I’m still going to have them pulled out as they have already gone through the skin and are in the process of going through which can lead to crowding and twisting of my teeth.

“But like I said, I’m waiting to be home and I’m covered by my health care.”

She later confirmed that she had booked a return flight for October 6 after a stay in the United States, but it is unclear whether she will come earlier to work on her teeth.

Shelby appeared on love island australia Season 1 in 2019.

She arrived as a new islander and eventually partnered with Dom Thomas.

Although the couple left together, their romance unfortunately did not last.

In a Q&A this week, Shelby confirmed she’s currently happily single when asked by a fan.

“The next guy I’m going to date is the one I’m going to marry, so I’m picky!” she says.
