CQC Inspectors Praise Lymm Dental Practice in Report
A DENTAL surgery in Lymm was praised by inspectors who noted how patients are treated with respect.
Lymm dental practice was visited in April by representatives of the Care Quality Commission for an announced comprehensive inspection.
Routine assessment of the Henry Street Clinic was carried out to check whether the practice met legal requirements.
This is done by determining whether the practice is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well directed.
In a recently published report, inspectors said the surgery itself is clean, while staff support patients and their wishes.
The report states: “The dental office was visibly clean and well maintained. The practice had infection control procedures in place that took into account published guidelines.
“Staff knew how to deal with medical emergencies. Appropriate medications and survival gear were available.
“Clinical staff provided patient care and treatment in accordance with established guidelines. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and staff took care to protect their privacy and personal information.
“Staff provided preventative care and supported patients to ensure better oral health, and the appointment system took patients’ needs into account.
“There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement, and staff felt involved and supported and worked as a team.”
However, the inspectors recommended some areas for improvement, including the establishment of an effective system for identifying, disposing of and replenishing expired stock.
